Because of the blunt, straight-forward way they speak to others, the D-style person often gets a bad rep. Most people recognize the D-style person right away. They pull no punches and make no excuses (and they expect you to do the same). They value competency and confidence.  They make no-nonsense decisions, autonomously.

To Adapt to the "D"Style

• When speaking to them, get to the point! Don't waste their time.
• Be prepared, organized, and fast paced. 
• Acknowledge their accomplishment, power, prestige, etc. when appropriate
• Give them WRITTEN DETAILS  to read in one page (if possible)
• Give them relevant information with options that will lead to success
• If you disagree with them, argue with facts, not feeling
• Don't waste their time (did I say that already???)
